About Us

Soulshine Event Services is a collective of mental health professionals and crisis intervention specialists who are committed to increasing mental health awareness and providing consent education to the live music and festival scene.

Fans of live music seek solace and joy in a show, the vibe of being one with the crowd, singing, dancing, and feeling the joy of the present moment. Those moments are hard to replicate and hard not to chase. The challenge of the human experience is one fraught with joy and pain- sometimes that pain becomes too much and can become overwhelming. We are here to normalize that experience, provide resources to our community and to encourage an ongoing dialogue about mental health at festivals and in everyday life. Just because you’re in a fun space doesn’t always mean you can leave the challenges of every day life at the gate.

We believe that consent plays a vital part in our connectivity and community. Our vision is that all parties participate in interpersonal encounters from a place of enthusiasm and autonomy. Consent must be explicitly granted from an individual who is clearly in a state of mind to be able to grant it. Our goal is to provide education and to get people to think and talk about consent; in doing so we can help create a healthier community of festival goers who will hopefully bring these lessons back to their homes - making them a safer and more equitable space for all.

On site, Soulshine can be contracted to provide emergency mental health support. We also act as advocates and liaisons for anyone who has experienced a consent violation. Any staff member with a radio can connect you with our team 24/7 during an event. We are here to listen, to provide a safe space, to provide skilled support when requested and to provide information about options and resources available to anyone who experiences a consent violation.

Everyone deserves to feel free to let their soul shine and to have their personal boundaries and bodily autonomy respected.
